The Moorings

The map of the Moorings shows the full extent of the land, club, homes and condominiums. Southwinds is in the lower left-hand corner, on the Atlantic Ocean.

A detailed history and scope of The Moorings community, as well as its relationships to the greater Vero Beach area, are provided in the website of a separate but related organization called the Moorings Property Owners Association, that is supported by all home owners and condominiums. The MPOA connects the many elements of The Moorings, provides security resources, and oversees management and maintenance of the common areas around the roadways of the properties and the large Ocean access area that is open to all Moorings residents.

The Moorings Yacht & Country Club

Established over 40 years ago, The Moorings Yacht & Country Club is independent of the other parts of The Moorings. It is one of Vero Beach’s most prestigious private clubs. Located a short drive or invigorating walk from Southwinds, it offers 18 holes of golf on Pete Dye’s Signature Par 64 Course, nine Har-Tru® tennis courts, four Pickleball courts, a state-of-the-art fitness center, croquet, pool, and spa, yacht club, Kid’s Zone, and a beautifully appointed clubhouse offering fine and casual dining. In addition, Jim Fazio's Championship Hawk's Nest Par 72 Course, also a part of the Club, is located on the mainland. Most Southwinds residents are members of the Club. Membership is by invitation.
